Drugs police followed their nose to a suspected £1m cannabis factory in West Yorkshire.
The suspicious smells wafting from a premises in Bridgegate, Rotherham prompted officers to apply to magistrates for a search warrant.
Officers from Rotherham Central NPT raided the premises on Thursday July 29 (today) and seized plants suspected as Class B classified cannabis plants as well as significant hydroponic equipment.
Police were taken aback by the scale of the suspected drugs operation.
Officers believe that they have disrupted a significant supply chain and have estimated the street value of the plants at £1m.
Rotherham Central NPT took to social media at 9pm and tweeted: “After a strong whiff on Bridgegate, and a conversation with a magistrate, £1m worth of cannabis was found and destroyed.
“This now can’t feed more serious and organised criminal activity.”
