The closure of Next in Dewsbury is only a few weeks away, YorkshireLive understands.
The national clothes chain is reported to be shutting its store at the Rishworth Centre retail park off Railway Street.
News of the plan emerged after German supermarket firm Aldi put in an application to build an extension to the premises used by Next.

The plans were approved by Kirklees Council last January.
Next has never confirmed the move but a report submitted with Aldi’s plan claims the firm’s departure is “in no way linked to Aldi’s interest”.
It says Next was undergoing an estate restructuring scheme and “Aldi’s interest has come about because of the expected vacancy”.
Now a Facebook post by an employee of the Next store has revealed it will close its doors forever on Sunday, September 12.
They have said the store will be open from 9am until 6pm with extended opening times until 6.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays until the final day of trading.
The employee claimed that most staff are being redeployed to the White Rose and J27 Retail Park stores.
Next was approached for comment.

Aldi’s approved plans will see the size of the premises almost double as a gap between the current building and Pets At Home is used for a large extension.
The budget supermarket firm has been expanding its presence in Kirklees but does not yet have a store in Dewsbury.
Rival Lidl opened a store off Bradford Road on the other side of the ring road in recent years.
The Rishworth Centre already hosts Sainsbury’s and Iceland while FarmFoods and Asda are only a few minutes away.
