Emma Raducanu shot to fame earlier this year after becoming the youngest British female to make it to the second week since 1959 during Wimbledon 2021.
Now, the 18-year-old rising star is taking the US Open by storm, winning seven matches in a row without dropping a single set.
Her most recent win was over the United States’ own Shelby Rogers, who knocked the world number one, Ashleigh Barty, out of the competition in the third round.
Next, Raducanu will face off against Belinda Bencic in the quarter-finals, in what is only the teen’s second main-draw appearance at a Grand Slam tournament.

Who is Emma Raducanu?
Emma Raducanu was born in Toronto, Canada in 2002 to a Chinese mother and Romanian father, before moving to London with her family aged two.
She attended Newstead Wood Grammar School in Orpington, Bromley, where she recently achieved an A* and A in her mathematics and economics A-Levels.
Raducanu first started playing tennis when she was just five years old, joining London’s Bromley Tennis Academy.
She turned professional in 2018 and has won three singles titles on the ITF Circuit so far.

Before Wimbledon, Emma Raducanu was ranked 338th in the world, however, after reaching the second week of the tournament after being selected as a Wimbledon wildcard entry, she shot up the league table to 150th position.
She had to retire early from her last-16 match against Ajla Tomljanovic after suffering from breathing difficulties, but now the British player is back for the 2021 US Open.
After reaching the quarter-finals, she is already up to a provisional world ranking of 74, but will be hoping to advance even further this tournament.
When is Emma Raducanu’s next US Open match?
Raducanu has had an impressive journey to the quarter-finals, with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win against Sara Sorribes Tormo in the third round, before defeating home favourite Shelby Rogers 6-1,6-2 to enter the last-eight.
She will play her next US Open match tomorrow, September 8, against Switzerland’s 11th seed, Belinda Bencic at Flushing Meadows.
