Gareth Bale ended his 578-day wait for a Real Madrid goal by scoring in his side’s 3-3 draw with Levante on Sunday night.
The Welshman bagged the opener in a thrilling LaLiga encounter at Estadi Ciutat de València to notch his first goal for the club since January 2020.
The Spanish media have been impressed by what they have seen from Bale in the opening stages of the 2021/22 campaign.
Marca writer Ben Feldman said: “The 32-year-old has picked up where he left off at Tottenham Hotspur last season, where he scored 14 times.
“He is enjoying a new lease of life in his second spell at the club at the club, following up his start at Alaves in his side’s first fixture of the LaLiga Santander season with his strike against Levante.”

Meanwhile, one journalist stated Bale is “more motivated” than he has previously been in Madrid.
“After more than a year (January 22, 2020 against Unionistas), the Welshman saw the door again with Real Madrid,” AS wrote.
“A good shot from the front to beat Aitor. During the time he was on the field, a more motivated and happy player than usual was seen when he puts on the white shirt, as happened in Mendizorroza [home of Alaves].
“However, he has a long way to go to be decisive. Beyond the goal, he did not appear near the rival goal.
“He was substituted after the break along with [Eden] Hazard and Isco.”
It comes after Bale was heavily criticised in Spain prior to his season-long loan move to Tottenham last year.
The 32-year-old managed only three goals during the 2019/20 campaign having featured just 20 times for Real Madrid in all competitions.
Bale is set to captain Wales in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Estonia. Prior to that double header, Rob Page’s men take on Finland in a friendly in Helsinki.
The squad for the upcoming Wales fixtures will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday).
