The six-time US Open champion has played competitive tennis for more than 20 years. With such a big change coming down the road, there can be a lot of stress to deal with. In the last couple of years, Serena has opened up about her mental health and the efforts she puts into maintaining her mental health. She has also declared that after her retirement, she will focus on her mental well-being.

The American star is seen actively promoting the importance of mental health on various social media platforms. Serena believes that mental fitness is learning to shut down. She is also known for changing her lifestyle because of her well-being and mental health.
Serena Williams dealing with unhealthy remarks
Back in 2017, In an interview, Sascha Bajin, former coach of Naomi Osaka, talked about his time with Serena.
“She hasn’t been treated well, ”he said. In his near-decade training with Serena, Bajin also explained how he reached out to her several times.
“Incidents happened a few times and I would ask her if I should step in and do something — and she never said yes. She said, ‘Let it go, it’s not worth it.’ It just shows how much bigger she is,” explained the coach.
Throughout her career, Serena has never let trolls take her down. In the past, when she returned in 2007 to Australia for the Grand Slam, she was ridiculed by the press over her weight gain.

After announcing that she is ‘evolving’ away from tennis, the 23-time Grand Slam champion played two back-to-back events in Toronto and Cincinnati. On Tuesday, the American icon she lost to Britain’s Emma Raducanu in the opening round of the Western and Southern Open.
For Raducanu, it was one of the greatest matches in her career. It was a battle between distant generations as there was 21-year gap between both the stars. After a career marked by countless comebacks, Williams’ year-long absence from the tour following last year’s Wimbledon proved to be too long to recapture her best form.
