James Harden has reportedly received an honorary jersey retirement from a Houston strip club for his contributions to the establishment coffers. As it turns out, the former Rockets guard allegedly spent close to $1 million at a gentleman’s club in Houston, Texas. As a result, the H-Town club has decided to hang a James Harden Rockets jersey from its rafters.
James Harden has received a lot of flak over the years for his work ethic and lack of discipline at the gym. In fact, he supposedly gained weight intentionally during his last days in Houston to force a trade out of Texas. Moreover, his escapades in clubs and bars have also attracted public attention.
Incidentally, Drake once saw Harden at a bar the night before a match against the Toronto Raptors. The Canadian rapper revealed that the 2018 MVP was “drinking virgin Mai Tais” before the game.

In the Joe Budden Podcast, co-host Jamil “Mal” Clay reported that, “James has his jersey like hanging from the top“.
“They were doing that because they said James has been going in there spending like [a lot of money], you know what I mean?”, he added. “So they gave him his own jersey hanging from the rafters of the strip club.”
Meanwhile, James Harden forced a trade out of Houston in early 2021 to join Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn. The three of them dominated discussions in the media spheres for a long time. In fact, they were touted by the prevalent media narrative as the favorites to win the 2021 title.
In other words, a large section of the NBA community saw them as the biggest threat to the Lakers. However, Harden and KD’s ‘superteam’ failed to get past the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

James Harden in the upcoming season
Meanwhile, James Harden left Brooklyn this year. He joined the Philadelphia 76ers in February.
However, he failed to revert to his former MVP self and looked like a shadow of himself. In fact, he struggled in this year’s postseason as Joel Embiid’s second option. To add insult to injury, the 76ers got knocked out in the second round of the playoffs after showing great promise all year.
