Former American tennis star John McEnroe is among one of the most loved tennis stars today. From a fiery tennis player, he has transformed into a reliable expert and commentator. Apart from tennis, he has also explored different fields recently. He did the narration on the recent Netflix series ‘Never have I ever.’
There’s another interesting thing he recently did. He played a tennis match against his virtual self. While one side of the court had McEnroe himself, his virtual version made from the compilation of his game over years was his opponent.
Speaking before the game, McEnroe commented on the similarity between the gameplay of a robot and Ivan Lendl.

Just before McEnroe faced his virtual self, the host playfully asked him about the similarity between the playing style of his virtual self and former tennis star Ivan Lendl.
Avoiding any type of potential controversy, McEnroe replied, “We didn’t get along too well, but we did respect each other. I think I certainly respect what he brought to the table. He was very robotic. Sometimes robots win. Hopefully not in this case.”

McEnroe and Lendl played 36 times out of which, 21 times Lendl defeated McEnroe. While the American came out victorious on 15 occasions.
McEnroe supports Novak Djokovic over the Vaccination issue
Novak Djokovic has a clear stand against the Covid-19 vaccination. The 35-year-old could not feature in the Australian Open because of the same. Now he is most likely to miss the US Open as well. Although, as there’s little time left for the tournament, many tennis personalities have urged the US government to let him participate in the tournament.

Djokovic, who recently claimed his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title, got the support of former tennis star John McEnroe. he backed Djokovic to be perfectly entitled to make the decision that’s best for him. Further, the American said it’s frustrating that a world-class athlete can’t enter the country due to some government regulations.
