You can now buy an empty cardboard box for your child this Christmas

A UK retailer has come up with an unusual Christmas present idea for children.

Bargain Max, which sells toys, games and collectibles, is offering 1p cardboard boxes for parents “sick of top gifts being trumped by an empty piece of cardboard”.

Their new “Box Clever” is a 49 x 41 x30cm cardboard box that allows kids to “let their imagination run wild”.

Made of the highest quality cardboard, the multifunctional box comes with several different configurations such as open, closed, and flat packed.

Its distinctive brown colour will stand out from its more garish and flashier rivals, and what’s more, it can be fully customised by your kids using crayons, markers, stickers, and glue (sold separately) to make it a totally unique product.

Priced at just 1p, with free postage and packaging, the company promises “hours of fun” and with an added bonus of saving a small fortune in the run up to Christmas.

Daniel McKay, Marketing & eCommerce Director at, said: “Picking out Christmas presents, particularly for kids, can be overwhelming due to the sheer amount of options on the market.

“However, if you speak to parents, they’ll tell you that most kids think the box a present comes in is just as much fun as the present itself.

“This Christmas, save yourself the hassle and pick up a Box Clever for your little one. It’s so reasonably priced that you can get them for all of your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews without breaking the bank.”
