A “cosy” and “fabulous” Yorkshire coffee shop described by visitors as a “hidden” and “tucked away gem” has been named as one of the best in the UK.
In a bid to find out the most loved independent businesses in the country, Tide analysed data on TripAdvisor to procure a list based on various search terms.
As well as looking at fish and chip shops, ice cream shops and vintage shops, the data looked at the best cafés which are independently run, Lancs Live reports.

And there is one from York which has scored very highly: Bruks Coffee Shop in Peter Lane, York, ranked third in a top 10 list of the “top rated” independent cafés in the UK.
On TripAdvisor, it has an average rating of 4.5/5 with 296 excellent reviews on the site.
Customers who have visited Bruks are hugely complimentary of the café with visitors describing it as “cosy”, “perfect” and “fabulous” as well as a “little gem,” a “hidden gem” and a “tucked away gem”.

One review posted two weeks ago says: “A lovely breakfast in this very friendly cafe. Had the full English which had everything you would expect on it, cooked perfectly with a decent sized pot of tea, all priced sensibly.
“First time I’ve called in here and was surprised how nice and spacious it was inside as from a distance it looks much smaller. Lovely and clean, lovely food and friendly.”

Another from three weeks ago, which praised the “amazing food service and atmosphere”, reads: “Really amazing! Me and my friend came in around 1 on a weekday, we waited a couple of minutes for a table to become free and we had such a good time.
