A man and a woman were injured after being trampled by cows in a field in the North York Moors.
An off-duty firefighter rushed to their aid when it happened on July 27 in the village of Appleton-le-Moors in Ryedale.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 7.56pm and the pair were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson for the service said: “An off-duty firefighter rescued two people being trampled by cows in a field. A Land Rover with crew from Kirkbymoorside was mobilised to assist with casualty care.

It comes after the tragic death of much-loved headteacher David Clark who died after being trampled to the ground by a herd of cows in the Yorkshire Dales.
At a jury inquest in Harrogate on Tuesday it was heard one of the enormous cows turned around and ran straight into him, delivering a fatal blow to his chest.
