A busy road in Wakefield has been closed after a serious multi-vehicle crash.
West Yorkshire Police were called to Weeland Road in Sharlston Common at around 2pm today, Saturday July 24, after reports of an accident.
The road has been closed off by officers for several hours between Pontefract and Doncaster Road while emergency services work at the scene.

Two cars are believed to be involved with one landing on its side.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said that two casualties were cut from their vehicle.
